I'm sufficiently excited. Here's hoping for higher quality (than the current TV shows).
if there will be a true video ipod coming out in the nearer future apple is forced to offer better quality. Bigger screen=Better Quality
Apple offers these shows etc. for the ipod (the availability to use these on our computer is a freebie) thus the current quality is fine for the current ipod's screen.
I have a feeling any new videos being added to the store around the new ipod release will also likely be widescreen. This will be needed!!!

Dialogs are not read top-to-bottom, left-to-right. You read the buttons first, then the title bar (if easily visible), then you'll scan the text, then if you absolutely must you'll waste seconds of your valuable life actually reading the whole text in sentence form. Since the "Delete file" text is nearly invisible in that screenshot, that dialog will be read like this:
[Yes][No]
Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla Recycle Bin?
Bla bla bla bla bla
Bla bla bla bla bla
Bla bla bla bla bla
Which is fine if you meant to bring up the dialog, but what if you brought it up accidentally? Many users get in the habit of always clicking Yes and OK. Buttons that will have destructive actions should be labeled clearly with what will happen.

If the MacBook and Mini stay with core 1 CPUs, sales will grind to a halt.
I don't understand the people who say stuff like this, and HAVE been saying stuff like this for months.
Look - most of the people who buy MacBooks and Minis don't even know what type of CPU they have.
The obsessive 5% of Mac users that live their lives on MacRumors (which, admittedly, I'm a part of) will put off a purchase for months waiting for their dream processor to show up in a Stevenote.
The 95% of Mac users living in the real world go to the Apple Store and buy a computer. They don't know, nor do they care, if some new Intel processor is in the works. Heck, I bet a lot of them don't even know Apple's using Intel chips now.
I have a buddy who just bought a MacBook Pro last week. I told him the Core 2 Duos are imminent, and he didn't care.
You think the kids going to the Apple store with mom and dad, ready to buy a MacBook, are going to run to Best Buy instead to pick up an HP notebook because it has a Core 2 Duo and the MacBook has a Core Duo? I highly doubt it. In fact, it's ridiculous.
They want the MacBook because it looks cool, it's what those trendy ads talk about, it works well with their iPod, etc, etc.
Ask the majority of MacBook and Mini owners where in level of importance they place the rev of Intel processor that's inside their computer and I bet most of them give a blank stare and go, "huh?"

Capitalization wasn't the point. It's the context in which a term or _name_ is used.
Context doesn't impact a trademark either. The only thing that would permit anyone to use the "App Store" trademark if it was granted would be outside of Apple's selected field of trade.
I could call my restaurant "App Store" because Apple did not trademark App Store as it relates to restoration and food. I could call my new Car model the "GM App Store", as it does not relate to the field in which Apple trademarked it.
I can't however call my store that sells Applications "App Store" or use "App Store" in a portion of its name, or for the slogan "KnightMarket : The best darn App Store!"
That is why descriptive trademarks aren't usually awarded and granted. Because it gives too much power to a single entity in a certain field of trade. We'll see how the USPTO decides this when they hand in their final decision in Apple's request, especially now that Microsoft filed in the opposition phase (which is exactly why the USPTO has an opposition phase to begin with).

Hi, i'm probably pushing my luck by asking this but, i was wondering if anyone knew how long after the U.S. release the rest of the world gets the imac released?
I realise there is no set U.S release date at the moment, but judging from past releases will it be staggered like the iPad 2 or will it be released simultaneously across the world?

Maybe they are rare where you live. In the UK and the rest of Europe they are more common that automatics.
Wow, here in New Zealand you never see new manual cars (unless they're some sort of heavy duty utility vehicle or a utility van). Regular road cars are all automatic now...

iPad 1 does support HDMI out, just not the video mirroring. This means that an app must support the standard "video out" mechanism to be used with the HDMI adapter with iPad 1.
What I would like to see is this same thing using AirPlay :)
I knew it didnt support mirroring but thats my bad. I have an iPad 2, but i was told at Apple the hdmi cable won't work with iPad 1. Guess they should read up a little bit.

You're twisting the argument. Guy + Girl have the possibility to make baby (if they're sterile that's an isolated case). If I am sterile and get married to someone of the opposite gender (and know I'm sterile before getting married), there is still no possible way to make a baby. Isolated case? The percentage of the population who are gay and the percentage who are sterile are probably very similar.

The chance that the iPod Classic is updated to 220GB is zero. Apple has no plans to ever update a hard drive based non-touch portable device (they would not waste their time), and they've shown even less interest in increasing the capacity of any device beyond even 64GB flash.

As for the iPod Classic, the reason it wasn't updated last year was because the 220 GB drive didn't exist. It would require very little effort on their part to swap out the 160 drive with this one, so if they do keep it around I'd be surprised if they didn't upgrade it come september.

I can hook it up to my TV and play in 1080, but....why would I want to? I watched the video on YouTube, and compared to Gran Turismo 5, F1 DiRT 2 and the upcoming Shift 2, etc, this game looks like crap. And I get to play it with no wheel or even a gamepad? Thanks, but no thanks.

I'm coming from the standpoint of someone that owns a G25 racing wheel, a Track IR 5 head tracker, and racing games and sims all of which support my toys. Games that run dead-locked at 60 fps -- as I enable what's called VSYNC --- at a substantially higher detail level than any low-powered GPU/CPU can currently muster.
Sure it might be lame and inferior in your taste, but can you take your toys with you? Yeah. That's the power with the iPad.
In the future, the iPad will have the graphic power of PS3 or Xbox 360.

In many ways, the appeal of iOS for me is that it harkens back to the simpler, days of instant-on 8-bit computers. Even more so than the quick, reliable return form sleep on my Macs that seems unreachable on most Windows boxes.
If this means that I can run iOS apps on my iMac or MB/MBP/MBA (down the line) to quickly send an e-mail or something like that it sounds great to me. I already often reach for my iPhone for simple tasks.
Dashboard "failed" due to a lack of apps, and the same is true of Windows' widgets. Apple has access to a huge assortment of apps (some very useful, others less so) for iOS that would instantly eliminate that problem.
Make it so. Please.

Almost shelled out Monday for a top of the liner mini. Glad I didn't get around to it. A 2 Duo in the low end and it will make a fantastic media center. Even better if they include a superdrive (unlikely :(). Have to wait and see....

People on this board claim "app store" is generic and so the trademark is invalid. Yet the trademark application process proceeded to the point that Apple was approved to begin using it.

In the end, Apple may lose the trademark. But considering the fact that placing the word "the" in front of a seemingly generic name appears to make a difference, perhaps apple should apply for "the app store" now.
As for Amazon, I don't think Apple will win this case. The name of Amazon's store is "Amazon Appstore".
