i had this generic car charger that worked for my ipod touch 1st gen and now i plugged into my ipod touch 4G running latest IOS and it tells me the accessorie is not compatible, why? it worked perfect with my 1gen
what car charger can i get for my ipod touch 4g besides the legit apple brand which is expensive
I'm using the Scosche revamp for my Ipod Touch 4g it works with every model and is about 13dollars.It's really durable and works great.

I have recently bought an Airport card for my iMac G3 and an Airport Extreme Card for my Powerbook G4. I installed both cards and set up the iMac to share the ethernet broadband connection over Airport, otherwise known as software base station.
I tried it out for the first time yesterday and it worked, once. Since then the powerbook will connect to the network set up by the iMac to share the net connection and everythin else works but the net access just times out when I try to go to a site.
Could this be my ISP (Blueyonder) clamping down once I had used the Broadband service on both computers at once? If so is there a way round it eg. IP masking as a router would so the ISP only see's one IP address? How can I do this?
I am out of guesses what could be the problem so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ryan

I have my PC and my Mac networked (sort of) via a D-link wireless router. I honestly don't even know how I did this but somehow I got them to talk to each other. Anyway my problem is this: I can connect to my PC through my mac anytime no problem, but when I want to access my Mac through my PC, I have to go through an elaborate process of bringing up the PC on my Mac trying to copy a file onto the PC and getting denied access, then going back to the PC where I can now access my Mac. It really sucks going through this every time so if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Yea, you should notice a pretty big increase in performance if you go from the x1900 to the 5770. Almost double the performance if not more I think.

fancy taking a look at this new Lion OS but not sure where to grab a copy unless subscribing to Apple Developers??
never asked for an illegal copy..
Given the fact that the only legal way of obtaining a copy of Lion is through being an Apple developer, all other means are illegal. If you want Lion right now, you have to pay to become a developer

I'm in the same boat. I'm here for a conference and really want to pick up the new iPhone but don't know where and when people are lining up. Anyone want to chime in?

I am looking to create a slightly different nav for each section on my site. I need PHP to look at the URL and see if the Folder is /AboutUs/ or /Services/ or whatever...
I have it working in ASP. How do I do it in PHP?
<%
vURL = mid(Request.ServerVariables("PATH_INFO"),2,999)
vSlashPlace = Instr(1, vURL, "/")
if vSlashPlace>0 then vURL = left(vURL, vSlashPlace-1)
if vURL = "Home" then
%>
HTML code goes here
<%
elseif vURL = "AboutUs" then
%>
HTML code goes here
<%
elseif vURL = "Services" then

else

End if

Thank you, guys.
Indded it seems that infrastracture for multiple simultaneous logins in place,
but need some tweaking.
Thanks for the pointing to fast user switching - will dig in this direction
Not graphical ones: Quartz basically only expects one active user at a time

Are you sure a lightning didn't strike your house or something? Burning all that stuff at once isn't very common:eek:

Howdy...
I've got a 2009 Mac Pro and I have all 4 of my Hard Drive bays filled currently with a mixture of 1TB and 2TB drives. I wanted to start swapping some of my smaller 1TB drives for some of the new larger 3TB drives. I went on NewEgg and was reading that certain operating systems are having a hard time addressing drives with over 2 TB of storage (the system only sees 2.12 TB or something like that of a 3TB drive). Has anyone had luck installing a 3TB drive in a Mac Pro and had the system recognize the entire disk? If so which brand and are you happy with it? I'm running Snow Leopard with all the most recent updates.
I also run my large iTunes library and store quite a few files on my boot drive, and while everything seems to run efficiently I've heard from some people that booting with ONLY the operating system from a SSD really makes the experience snappy. Wondering if anyone out there does this and how they like it.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

The Ivy Bridge CPUs will very likely be in the next generation iMacs, if that's what you meant. They certainly won't have 3D screens.
yes that's what i mean.
and why not 3d screens ?

Video Filters> Three Way Color Corrector
:D
Seems the way to go, however the OP has no FCP but FCE which has no three way color corrector. Only a two way thing which is a bit weird to use. Anyway this is how you can do the trick.

2.4GHz Core 2 Duo is 12.5% Faster than the 2.1GHz Core2 Duo in the fastest MBA.
Assuming that this simulation is purely CPU bound, It makes sense that your simulation would run at almost the same speed, but at a higher level of CPU use. I would guess that the MBA fans would be working pretty hard as well to handle a sustained 85% - 95% CPU activity.
If you are running this program all day long, it probably makes more sense to go to the faster Processor in the 15" MBP.
If this is something you only do occasionally, and the bulk of your use fits the MBA capability better, then maybe you are willing to trade a bit of performance for portability.

A work around you could do is buy a stereo mini to one quarter inch adapter (like this (http://www.headphone.com/accessories/stereo-mini-to-one-quarter-inch-adapter.php) one) and then a quarter to mini that fits (like this (http://www.headphone.com/accessories/grado-quarter-to-eighth-inch-plug-adapter.php)), and that way you can avoid buying new headphones.
But if you prefer new headphones I would recommend a portable pair like Sennheiser PX200-2 (just as a little note, they are a lot better than the first version of the PX200), full size I can't remember now one with a "skinny" connector.
Those are the ones I have, right down to the Grado brand. And they still don't fit

Check out MacTracker (http://mactracker.ca/). It's a cool little app that tells you all sorts of things about Macs, past and present.
Apparently it was a 5400RPM 60GB drive, with the option to upgrade the size to 80GB or even 100GB. :)
Cool, I had never heard of the program but it is excellent for what I'm doing. Thanks for your help. Thanks to everyone else too!

i think they r static shocks casue they r pretty weak
Although static shocks don't feel too bad to you and I, a static shock is plenty enough to fry the parts on the inside of the computer. That is exactly why you are supposed to ground yourself when working on computers because a static shock from walking on carpet and so on, is plenty enough to do damage to the computer.
It should not be happening and you need to call Apple.

Lacking really they have a good back catalog if you browse they have everything from the 80s He-Man to the matrix and pirates trilogy and new relases like train your dragon and Karate kid i think this is actually a little better than the PSN store now.
Yes, lacking. I just fired it up, to see if things have improved in the last 6 months since I started it up. It hasn't. The "New On Vudu" section, as well as the "Most Watched" section, are littered with a bunch of so-so movies, or old stuff that i have no intention on spending $$$ to stream. There is just nothing that it offers me (on a per-view charge) that I want over what I get with Netflix (on the all-you-can-eat plans).
Granted, they DO get a decent number of movies pretty quick, and as I said before, the quality of an HDX movie is great. But, if you rent just 2 movies in HDX format in a month, you are already spending the same amount that you could get with the basic Netflix disc/streaming plan, with the extra Blu-ray fee no less. It just isn't worth it at the current prices that Vudu is charging.
*Edit* - I just watched that video on the PS Blog, and the app on the PS3 is the exact same app that I have on my TV.
